CW Browning was writing before she could spell. Making up stories in the backyard with her childhood best friend, imagination ran wild from the very beginning. Her first full-length novel was printed out on a dot-matrix printer at the age of eight. Through the years, the writing continued as an enjoyable past-time while she pursued other avenues of interest, attending Rutgers University and studying History. In time, though, it became apparent where her heart truly lie. CW still makes up stories in her backyard, but now she crafts them for her readers to enjoy. She makes her home in Southern New Jersey, where she loves to grill organic steak and sip red wine on the patio.

But as she begins to peel back years of deceit, Alina is faced with choosing who she can trust, and who is not what they seem.

Next Exit, Use Caution is here!

In a few short hours, Next Exit, Use Caution will be available on Amazon, iTunes, Barnes & Noble and Kobo. I’ve worked hard to get it to this point and, wow – what a ride!

After leaving everyone hanging at the end of Quarter Mile (sorry about that!) it was a priority for me to get the next book out ASAP so the wait wasn’t excruciating. Quarter Mile released on June 12, last summer. Here we are, eight months later, waiting for book 5 in the Exit Series to go live tomorrow. My goal last year was to get it out within 6 months. I missed that by 2 months. Even so, I’m still pretty darn proud of myself. Exhausted, drained and in desperate need of an entire day of sleep, but proud.

And, bonus, I’ve been told this is the best one yet! 😀

So what’s next? Champagne. Lots and lots of champagne! And then, it’s right back to work. You see, I’ve set yet another ambitious goal this year. With a little luck and a lot of work, I’m hoping to release the next book by the end of the year! If I stay on track, I think I just might do it.

But for now, I’m going to sit back and enjoy tomorrow’s launch, sip champagne tomorrow night, and then hop back on the bike the next day. Cheers!

Sneak Peek

Alina ejected the magazine from her .45 and inserted a new one, never taking her eyes from the target positioned seventy-five feet away. She raised her arms and unloaded the new magazine, watching as the grouping from this round of shots went through the center of the established grouping on the target. A minute later she ejected the spent cartridge and lowered her arms. The modifications were perfect. Now to test the range. She turned and walked a few feet to her left, turning to face the target setup thirty yards away.

When she got back in the wee hours of the morning, Alina had been restless and unable to sleep. Dawn found her working on modifying her primary weapon, the Ruger SR45 that accompanied her everywhere. Raven, her black hawk, had watched from the roof of the stand-alone garage as she set up four targets in the backyard before finally going to sleep for a few hours. When she awoke in the early afternoon, Viper was still restless, but at least now she’d gotten some sleep. That counted for much more than it seemed, as she well knew.

Sliding a full magazine into place, she raised her arms and took aim. Her lips tightened imperceptibly. She didn’t have much time. The incident in Singapore had made that abundantly clear. The leak in Washington was getting bolder. She was going to have to move soon, and quickly. Whether Charlie was ready or not, they were almost out of time.

Next Exit, Use Caution is almost here!

It’s been an insane couple of months, but I’ve worked my you-know-what off to get the next book in the Exit Series out to you, and now it’s almost here! Can I get a Woot-Woot?!?!

Next Exit, Use Caution officially releases on Tues. Feb. 26, 2019. However, you can pre-order the ebook now from all the online retailers. I’ll include the links below in case you’re so inclined. You can pick it up early for the sale price of $2.99. On launch day, Feb. 26, that price goes up to the regular price of $4.99, so grab it now while it’s still low.

If, by some chance, you haven’t read the others in the series, I would highly recommend that you do so before diving into Use Caution. While it technically can stand alone, I wouldn’t advise it. Besides, the previous books are a lot of fun! Of course, I might be a little biased…

The fight is far from over.

After a mysterious assassin strikes too close to home, Viper has just one goal: retribution. But nothing is ever easy in New Jersey. Targeted by an invisible and nameless mastermind, Alina Maschik struggles to unravel the mystery cloaking her nemesis even as she fights for her own survival. When those closest to her become targets and the clock starts ticking, Viper knows her only hope lies with secrets from the past – secrets someone is determined to keep buried.

From the balmy, perfumed streets of Singapore to the suburbs of New Jersey, the country’s top assassin must stay one step ahead of a deadly foe. But not everyone is what they seem, and Viper must choose who she can trust…and who is a traitor.

I’m so excited to release this book! And isn’t that a kick-ass cover??? Huge shout out to Tim @DissectDesigns for creating yet another work of art for me. As always, his vision captures the book like nothing else could.

If you’d like to take advantage of the promotional pre-order pricing, links for all the retailers are below. I can’t wait to share the latest installment with you!

Exciting Stuff!

First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you for helping make the launch of Quarter Mile such a success! The response was awesome to see and hear. I hope it lives up to expectations! You guys are truly the best!

In honor of the next book in the Exit Series being out and launched, I finally made what was, for me, a monumental decision. As you all know, I’ve been exclusively with Amazon so far on this wild ride. I’ve been happy with them, and they have in no way changed that. However, I feel that it’s time to broaden my horizons, so to speak. After five years, I finally decided to go wide with distribution. As a result, I’m super excited to announce that all books in the Exit Series are now available on the following platforms:

Barnes and Noble

Apple iBooks

As always, print editions are also available on Amazon, and through myself. I’m so excited to offer the series on more platforms! Spread the word!

Finally, last but not least, I’m sure you’ve noticed the new style of cover on Quarter Mile. I am in the process of changing over the covers on all the books! Three Miles is done. Here it is!

Look for the new covers on Pay Toll and Dead Ahead by the end of Summer!!!!

Today’s the Day!!

NEXT EXIT, QUARTER MILE has arrived! It is available in both Kindle and Paperback on Amazon TODAY! WOOT-WOOT!!!!

I’m sitting here, on the eve of the launch for Quarter Mile, wondering what on earth I can write that will do this book justice, and I’m coming up empty. The road to this point was been so long, and so difficult, that now the day’s arrived, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed.

And VERY relieved!

I won’t sugarcoat it. There were times I really didn’t think this book would ever see the light of day. I rewrote it twice, almost completely packed it in once, and in the end, it was only through sheer determination and redheaded stubbornness that I powered through to finish it. 3 1/2 years. That’s how long you guys have been waiting for this. That’s a long time. I could give all kinds of excuses as to why it took so long. I can blame myself, I can blame real life, I can blame the book itself. Shoot, I could even legitimately blame the characters if I wanted to because they gave me fits all the way through. At the end of the day, though, I think the reason this was such an ordeal is because it was truly a labor of love. I love these characters, and it was time to push them into places that they don’t want to go. It was very difficult from a writing standpoint, and took way too long to accomplish. For that, you all have my most sincere apologies. One thing I will promise you, right here and right now. The next book will NOT take so long. Promise.

Next Exit, Quarter Mile is the fourth book in the Exit Series, and the most pivotal. Be prepared to be surprised, shocked, and engaged as you embark along a twisted, dangerous race against an invisible foe. Take an unexpected ride with Viper as she’s forced to tackle the one thing she hates most, emotion. Most of all, leave all your expectations behind. They’re about to be blown away.

And now, without further ado…..may I present…..NEXT EXIT, QUARTER MILE:

When Alina Maschik – code name “Viper” –  flees Syria, she has a serious problem. Someone knows much more than they should about the elusive assassin. With orders to lie low, Alina returns to Medford, determined to do just that.

But once again, New Jersey refuses to co-operate.

The Casa Reino Cartel is moving mysterious cargo up the Eastern seaboard; a tragic accident in the Pine Barrens kills a local street racer; FBI Special Agent John Smithe is looking for answers where there shouldn’t be questions; metro area hospitals are stockpiling a new antidote, and an invisible foe has zeroed in on Viper.

A web of intrigue stretching from Damascus to the Pine Barrens has been skillfully cast. Now, Viper must confront ghosts from her past even as she fights to unravel a sinister plot before thousands of Americans die.

It’s Coming!!

It’s been a long two years. Although it seems like I dropped from the face of the earth, I did not. I was writing. It’s what us introverts do. Some more than others.

A lot has happened in two years. My former website suffered an unexpected demise, resulting in this shiny new one that you have before you. Do you like? I enjoy the simplicity of it. Take a look around. Post a question in the forum. Subscribe to my (also) shiny new email update list. Pull up a chair, have a seat, and strap yourself in.

Because I’m just getting started.

I said it was coming. And it is. It is my absolute pleasure to reveal the cover to NEXT EXIT, QUARTER MILE right here, tomorrow!! I can’t wait! There were a lot of delays, and it seemed like everything was going wrong, but we got here. Finally! The fourth installment of the Exit Series is coming!

More on that tomorrow, but first…

I’d like to share a bit about my new email update subscription list. I know what you’re thinking. Oh my God, more emails??? I feel you. I hate getting 20 emails a week from a faceless entity that I don’t remember and don’t care about. Why is this email subscription different? Well, for starters, I suck at blogging. It’s a struggle to write 1 blog post every 4 months. I can guarantee you this, I don’t have the time or energy to devote to writing 20 emails a week to send to you guys. Sorry. I’d rather spend my free time writing the next book. That’s just the way it is. HOWEVER, I do want to let you all know when exciting things are happening: like a cover reveal for the next book, or the release date for the next book. If you like my books and want to know when to expect the next one, please sign up. I’ll send you an email only when big things are happening. I will NOT send you an email just to say Hi. Unless you’re Jason Statham or Robert Downey, Jr.  Then maybe.

If you decide to go out on a limb and click on the handy-dandy SUBSCRIPTION button in the footer of this site, you will find that you have two subscription options. You can choose Email Updates or Reader’s Club. (or both, if you’re adventurous) An Email Updates subscription is just that: email updates on upcoming releases and other big news. When Next Exit is made into a movie, I’ll let you know.

If you choose Reader’s Club, you join an elite club. Yes, club. You will receive notifications of exclusive giveaways, fun contests, and any other shenanigans I choose to engage in. In addition, you will also automatically be entered into a pool. What kind of pool, you ask? I’ll tell you. Starting with the release of book 5 in the Exit Series, I will randomly choose 10 members from the Reader’s Club to participate in an ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) campaign. And by random, I mean random. All club members will be put into an automated scrambler online and the program will randomly choose names for me. I have no control whatsoever. Except to push the start button. I love pushing start buttons. Those lucky few will receive free copies of the new release 2 WEEKS AHEAD OF RELEASE DATE. You will be sent the book in the format of your choice, ebook or paperback. And yes. I said free. You will receive the ARC for free, along with a request that when you are finished reading the book, you leave an HONEST review on Amazon on the specified release day. I’m gonna be honest. Reviews are like gold, very hard to come by, and every one helps.

So that’s the scoop on the new Subscription gig. If you ever want to change your subscription from one to the other, just shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to do so. If you want to cancel, just click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email you receive. Easy Peasy, no offense taken. So, if you feel so inclined, please feel free to subscribe! Oh, and the form asks for your birthday. Don’t worry. I don’t want the year. Who knows? Maybe I’ll send you a cake.
